US embassy launches Bangla website

The Embassy of the United States in Dhaka on Thursday launched a Bangla website on the eve of International Mother Language Day on February 21.

US embassy charge d’affaires JoAnne Wagner launched the website which was full of almost all features, including issues on visa, education in the US, cultural affairs, business opportunities with the US, available in the embassy’s English website. The new website will closely mirror the Embassy’s English website and provides content to Bengali speakers across Bangladesh and around the world.

The website, which will allow Bengali speakers in Bangladesh, will connect Bangla speaking people in different places including the United States.

The launching of the US Embassy Dhaka website in Bengali is one of the many initiatives of the US government to promote greater cooperation, dialogue, and mutual understanding between Bangladesh and the United States, and a strong partnership to help ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific region, said the US Embassy.
