Coronavirus: US suspend visa services in Jamaica

The United States Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica has suspended visa and other consular service after one of its employees tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The employee recently returned to Kingston after travelling to the United Kingdom.

In the meantime, the embassy says it is in the process of sanitizing the premises to prevent further outbreak.

It said too that it is working with the local health authorities and is implementing all appropriate measures to help control the spread of COVID-19.

At the same time, the Embassy is urging U.S. citizens travelling to Jamaica to review and follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines for the prevention of coronavirus.

The embassy says U.S. citizens who require emergency assistance should call 876-702-6000. 

As the affects of Coronavirus, US embassy in Tirana, Albania also suspended visa interview on Thursday and cancelled until April 3, 2020. This action of US embassy has come in support of Albania Government’s effort to prevent further spread of Covid- 19 by limiting public gathering and increasing distance between persons.

Aslo this embassy has decided to postpone or cancel public events and gatherings until April 3.
